We are happy to welcome Joana Vale Sousa for a PhD internship in the lab, supported by the Erasmus program. Joana is a PhD candidate at INESC TEC Porto, Portugal, and will be staying at OWL-ML in Bremen for 6 months until the end of July 2026.
Joana works on continual learning in the context of medical imaging. More broadly, she is interested in how to design experience replay mechanisms and drift detectors, while simultaneously catering to application needs and requirements. During her PhD visit period at OWL-ML she will continue on this thread and bring our algorithmic expertise to the medical domain.
